Restaurant BBQ steak menu
The problem

- Restaurant guests wonder how different types of steaks look like, and whether it is served whole or in slices;

- Grill menu is not ordered as often as the main menu.

The task:

The old main menu of the restaurant didn't contain dishes pictures. We decided to separate Grill menu from Main menu and make a photo-shoot of steaks.

A new Grill menu should:

- Contain a pictures of stakes, so guest see what they order

- Look delicious and increase sales.

- Simplify and speed up the waiters work.

Design development process:
1.

Design-research, choosing suitable photo-references;
2.

Spotting the concept for new menu;
3.

Make a photo collage;
4.

Searching for food-photographers and food-stylists, see their portfolios.
5.

To discuss with photographer menu style, angles for photography, props.
6.

Shooting the menu in a restaurant;
7.

Layout design (few options), approving final design with management.
8.

Printing and delivering menu to restaurants.

The result:

There were two bright and mouth-watering design options developed for the grill menu. The first concept is serving steaks on plates, the second concept – steaks grilling on the fire. The new menu is clearer and more intuitive compared to the previous non-pictures menu. The new menu design has boosted steak sales.
